About Us

Formed in 2010, the Lewis County Autism Coalition is a partnership of human services agencies, educators, health professionals, and adults on the spectrum. We grow and sustain resources for children and adults on the autism spectrum, their parents and families, and our larger community. Our dynamic circle of partners works together to provide a regional hub of services, information, and resources for families in and around Lewis County, Washington.

Today, coalition members work together to:

  • Provide a central resources hub to help parents, families, caregivers, and professionals navigate community autism services system (in partnership with Centralia College).
  • Implement the SMART (School Medical Autism Review Team) model – since replicated in other Washington counties – to coordinate appropriate services that can support the success of children on the autism spectrum. SMART partners with Northwest Pediatrics to achieve a local diagnosis of autism.
  • Host an annual Autism Conference.
  • Sponsor summer programs for children.
  • Actively promote awareness about autism in the community.
  • Provide community training opportunities for health care providers, childcare, and public-school educators.
