SMART Program

SMART  (School-Medical Autism Review Team) pulls teachers and doctors together to work as a team for children on the autism spectrum.  These professionals find the best services (including ABA – Applied Behavior Analysis) to support their success in school and life.  Your local SW Washington SMART team is supported by Northwest Pediatrics (an Autism Center of Excellence) and can provide a local diagnosis of autism.

SMART was developed by Lewis County Autism Coalition. It is available in Lewis, Skagit, Island, and Whatcom counties, with programs in the planning phase for Grays Harbor, Chelan, Douglas, and Pacific counties.

This comprehensive program provides services close to home, and creates a comforting safety net between families, primary care providers and school teachers. Evaluations are shared, leading to more support for ASD children from people who know them best.
