Employees with developmental disabilities work in a variety of fields that require a wide range of skills.

  • Employees with differences will be able to do the job.
  • They are qualified to meet your expectations.
  • If needed, we can provide additional support that you, your new employee, or your other employees might need at no cost to you.

Individuals with disabilities can:

  • Bring stability to your business through higher than average retention rates
  • Demonstrate unique strengths just like all your employees
  • Become valued workers who can improve workplace culture and morale
  • Increase business success through greater productivity and innovative solutions
  • Improve the public image of your business in Lewis County
  • Secure tax benefits for hiring workers with differences.

There is no extra cost to hire someone with a developmental disability. In fact, with a higher than average retention rate, you may save your business some money.

Most of the time, no accommodations are required when hiring an individual with a developmental disability. Nationwide data shows that if accommodations are needed, most are under $500.

Reliable Enterprises began in a garage in 1977, launched by a group of local citizens who were concerned about the welfare of disabled adults. Over the decades, the program expanded beautifully to meet the needs of its citizens: children, their parents, veterans, homeless, mentally ill, and impoverished. Now, 40+ years after its humble beginning, Reliable Enterprises operates twelve programs, two emergent foster homes, and eight low-income housing properties, easily serving thousands of families and disadvantaged citizens in Lewis County.
