Dear Lewis County Community,
It is a privilege to connect with you and share my vision for the exciting future we can create together. As the Executive Director of the Lewis County Autism Coalition, I bring over two decades of experience in advocating for underserved populations and a specialized master’s education in leadership and community interventions and a strong background in research. Most importantly, I am driven by a deep passion for serving our community and collaborating with each of you.
Our coalition is dedicated to building a compassionate and supportive community where individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and neurodiverse, along with their families, can access the resources and services they need to thrive. With your support, we are working to remove barriers to care, expand opportunities, and foster meaningful connections that benefit everyone.
We are embarking on transformative initiatives to strengthen our impact. This includes enhancing beloved programs like our sensory-friendly summer camps and neurodiverse social groups, as well as introducing new projects tailored to meet the unique needs of our region. A cornerstone of these efforts is the upcoming Spectrum & Development Community Center. This innovative space will serve as a dynamic hub, offering therapy services, community programming, assistive technology, and opportunities for learning and engagement, all designed to empower rural families and individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. There is another big surprise tied to this venture with more details to come SOON!
In addition to expanding our programs, we thrive on collaborative partnerships with businesses, schools, and community organizations. These relationships are essential to creating a supportive environment where every individual is empowered to contribute and succeed.
I am honored to serve in this role and deeply value the opportunity to work alongside you, our neighbors, families, and partners. Together, we have the power to create positive, lasting change for our community. I look forward to this journey and to all we will achieve together.
Warm regards,
Michelle Whitlow, C.C., M.S.
